This isn’t your average health conference or functional medicine event…
On April 27th through Sunday, April 29th, thousands of people from around the globe will descend into Austin, Texas for what is promised to be the most epic Paleo f(x)™ conference to date.
In its 7th year running as the only paleo conference around the world. It began as a small one-day meet-up in Austin, Texas at the Texas Longhorn Stadium and has grown into an international sensation.
Paleo f(x)™ draws every level of paleo enthusiast, from newbies to the first adopters. New York Times’ best-selling authors, data-driven researchers, functional medicine leaders, wellness experts, paleo-friendly vendors, new innovators, and the next generation of health leaders, alike, all gather for the three day paleo and functional medicine conference.
And this is not just any “diet” conference (ie. a place to try free samples or passively listen to a few talks).
Instead, it’s a “mover and shaker” conference, uniting the “movers and shakers” of today (and tomorrow) to:
- Exchange new ideas
- Learn cutting-edge insights
- Launch new health technologies, foods and products
- Create action plans for improving current health issues like healthcare, sustainable farming and toxic burden
- And continue to shape lifestyle health as we know it.
To attend or not to attend Paleo f(x)™?
There is really no question. But if you need some convincing, here are our top 10 reasons:
1. Learn the Latest Updates in the Science of Paleo
We bring together the experts on emerging health topics.
From the most recent research on improving brain health, blood sugar imbalance and heart health, to what the science says about Ketogenic and Intermittent Fasting, gut healing, yo-yo dieting, endurance exercise versus HIIT training, herbal healing, post-workout nutrition, the effectiveness of meditation on cortisol (ie. stress) hormones, hacking sleep, natural thyroid treatment, healing from autoimmune disease and more.
Topics include anything from social, to physical, to mental health.
The best part? The discussions are held for all levels of learners. (After all: We did start out with the tagline, “theory to practice,” after all).
Whether you’re a Paleo newbie or know-it-all, there are talks here for you, and if a talk has complex science involved, we make that clear beforehand.
2. Walk Away with Practical Applications
Knowledge is power and the talks at Paleo f(x) certainly contain LOTS of knowledge and meat. 77But they ALSO contain for integrating lessons learned into your real life.
Unlike many other conferences (that talk at you or present copious amounts of research, with very little “take home” or “how to apply this” advice, you’ll learn practical ways to put insights learned into practice, as well as helpful resources, tools and tips to share with others in your world as well (ie. family, friends, co-workers).
And insights span far beyond “diet talk.”
While you will learn more about real food and the health benefits various foods provide, you’ll also dive into topics like what you can do to support farming sustainability; how to eliminate toxic exposure from your life; the best type of exercise for your body; how blue light and screens affect you and how to live in a screen-centric world; tactics to avoid the common cold, boost metabolism and heal your own gut; action steps you can take to impact legislation; food ethics and politics; and more.
3. Taste & Try the Latest Health Technologies & Paleo-Friendly Food Products
The Paleo f(x)™ expo floor is stacked with hundreds of health-is-a-lifestyle based companies showcasing the latest and greatest in paleo-friendly foods, products and technologies.
A few things you’ll find?
- Biohacking workout equipment.
- Blue blocker glasses to avoid blue light.
- Simple protein baby food.
- Convenience bars and snacks your kids will love (without the high-fructose corn syrup, red dye or soy).
- Nootropics, 3 to 5 ingredient workout supplements, non-toxic skincare and fluoride-free toothpaste.
You name it, you’ll probably find a high-quality Paleo version of it.
You will also get to see some of tomorrow’s “superstars” in the product-space world launch their latest food, workout, health tech products on the Paleo f(x) expo floor!
4. You Get to Visit the Greatest City on Earth (Austin, Texas)
Paleo f(x)™ happens every year deep in the heart of Texas–Austin.
And before you go thinking you’re in for a town of red necks, cowboy boots and shot guns, think again. ranked Austin as the number one city in America in 2017 and we are definitely not arguing.
There are tons of outdoor amenities like Lady Bird Lake in the middle of downtown (right by the venue), hiking and biking trails galore, and Barton Springs (a spring-fed natural pool). We also have trendy bars and dance spots; historic monuments; tons of startup companies and forward-thinking entrepreneurs; eclectic art; hundreds of unique fitness studios and training facilities; and above all, millions of friendly, happy people.
Basically… Austin can’t be beat.
And did we mention the food?
One of the world’s first all-Paleo cafes, Picnik, has its original trailer just a short trip down the road from the Palmer Events Center.
In addition, there is barbecue EVERYWHERE.
However, for a southern town, the people of Austin are highly health-conscious. Many of the restaurants we have here in town will be extremely accommodating to food sensitivities (ie. waiters will NOT look at you like you have a third eye if you request “gluten-free” or “paleo-friendly”).
Oh, and you know that the “mothership” Whole Foods is right by our event too, right?
5. Make Business Connections Galore with Other Health Entrepreneurs
Since Paleo f(x)™ began in 2012, we have witnessed an explosion of success in the ancestral health industry, creating a whole new sect of business culture all its own.
From bloggers and authors, to tortilla companies, workout programs, health coaching, restaurants, clinical healthcare practices, cookies, crackers, meal-delivery companies, supplements, gluten-intolerance and ketone-testing personal trackers, and more, the “business” of paleo and the ancestral community runs deep.
Paleo f(x)™ is like a “big reunion” and networking event all in one. We love uniting business owners and health entrepreneurs together, offline and in real-world–building a sense of community that a screen never can.
Over the years, plenty of business partnerships and new brands have formed because thought leaders can congregate and discuss ideas, or brainstorm new ones. Bring your business cards and a genuine interest in meeting, greeting, sharing and collaborating with other health and business-minded partners “in crime.”
6. Put on Your Party Pants
There ain’t no party like a paleo party.
We may like our kombucha strong and our fatty meat with a #BigAssSalad, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a good time.
Unlike other parties where GMO-contaminated beer and wine, chips and queso and loud music (over intelligent conversation) are mainstays, there’s something invigorating about having a good time alongside those who share like-minded health beliefs and interests.
If you care about the food you’re eating, the fact you need to get up and train in the morning, or what your drink of choice (or lack thereof) is, you are definitely in good company.
Get ready to make tons of friends. Whether you come with your posse, or fly solo, you will meet, greet and have the opportunity to create fun new memories alongside “your tribe.”
And, did we mention the fact that there are plenty of, uh, young (attractive) singles at the event every year. In other words: You’re definitely not alone.
Throughout the weekend, you’ll also have the opportunity take advantage of festivities beyond the conference. With social events at local paleo-friendly restaurants, yoga-meetups, dance-a-thons on 6th street, and special post-conference parties and dinners, like Paleo f(x)™ charity dinner.
7. The TRIBE!
Speaking of meeting new people, the “Paleo f(x)™ tribe” is hands-down the factor that separates Paleo f(x)™ from any other health or diet conference.
Coming to Paleo f(x)™ means you have the opportunity to meet all the people who think similarly to you–both “celebrities” and Average Joe’s alike.
There is no paparazzi or red tape separating some of your favorite CrossFit athletes, star food bloggers, best-selling authors, and mindset-shifting gurus from strolling out onto the floor each year, and you’ll mix and mingle with folks from all walks of life, but similar values.
Everyone is in a good mood, because we’re all suddenly “normal.”
We don’t need to give excuses for the olive oil in our purses.
Or explain the Vibram FiveFingers shoes we’re wearing. Or why there’s butter in our coffee. Or why we need to take a 10-minute break to get some fresh air and do some squats.
Everyone just sort of… gets it.
Though there is a wide range of ways people approach Paleo living, no one is judgmental about it at Paleo f(x)™.
Because we all understand the theory of the n=1 experiment, too.
And coming together allows us to take that leap toward our greater selves because we aren’t isolated behind our screens. We’re surrounded by one another in the flesh.
And we take that with us the rest of the year, growing those relationships more with time.
Paleo f(x)™ turns into a family reunion, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Ok. So are you convinced now? We can’t wait to see you there!
